John has been associated with the collision repair industry for over 35 years with a wide range of experience in both collision and jobber businesses. He started out as a technician, worked his way through all facets of the collision center before moving on to spend seven years in PBE distributor management. He returned to collision as co-owner of a collision center in central Pennsylvania, where he was one of the earliest and most successful adopters of the lean principles we teach today. After establishing this business, he moved on to manage a multi-franchise dealership collision repair store outside of Pittsburgh for six years, again successfully applying the collision process improvement processes critical to our value added offerings. A former I-CAR instructor and has been a contributing editor for ABRN. He has hands-on experience with the practical application of TOC (Theory of Constraints) within the collision repair industry.

From my perspective

Communication and understanding is leverage when building a team. Teams become fragmented only when leadership has failed to provide a clear image of the current state, what needs to change for the future and engaged all participants to build a path for that future. Heart, commitment and passion are attributes necessary to move a team and build sustainability within a culture. People are a reflection of the leaders around them. If you can rally a team, success is imminent.
